Wrapped Bar Design in Red and Blues

This is one of a series of designs inspired by a web page of wrought iron components, in particular a length of twisted square section bar. I was fascinated by both the curves, which turned out to be sine waves, and the way the differing faces appear and disappear. The colours were done by hand manipulating the two blues. While the rug is functionally two sided it was designed to have the red band on the top surface. The weave is 3 end block weave with shaft switching. Finished by folding and sewing down. Cotton warp, wool weft.
