Availability
All our items are one-off art pieces, are offered for sale as is and are finished and ready to ship. This does mean that once sold they are gone. We can repeat designs but not exactly (see below). Some pieces may be temporarily not for sale when they are in an exhibition or at a gallery. The gallery or exhibition has first right of sale, but if unsold, they should return in due course. Please contact us about this.
Returns &
Exchanges
All our items are one-off art pieces and are offered for sale as is. We cannot offer exchanges or replacements. While we take great care and are able to correct some weaving errors, these are hand-made products and as such, any errors are a feature of their hand-made nature and are part of their beauty.
We want you to love your new purchase and will work with you to help avoid disappointments. Every computer monitor and cell phone screen may show colours a bit differently, if you have a question about an item's colour/shade please contact us and ask for more pictures.
We must stress that we do not accept returns. If you ship an item back for a refund it will be refused. If your item has been damaged or broken in transit please notify us within 48 hours of delivery (per tracking confirmation) and provide us with some photos for the insurance process. Insurance beyond the basics of standard courier post should be specified when the item is ordered.
Item descriptions are specific to that item only. If you ever have a question about an item please ask. We will be happy to discus any details about your item. Once you purchase an item it is non-refundable.
Handmade items are made with lots of love and (mostly) the best quality local and internationally traded materials we can get our hands on, but they are handmade and will differ slightly in detail. Note that some rugs are made with what we call “recycled wool” which is mostly plied together ancient wools of unknown origin, for more detail please see Laurence’s part of the ABOUT section.
All items are non-refundable, final sale.
Payment
Please contact us at redcrocodile.nz@gmail.com to purchase a piece. Our preferred payment method is by bank transfer. We are currently looking into using other methods, such as PayPal.
Delivery
NZ Shipping Information
We normally use standard NZ courier post which is not the cheapest option but is reasonably fast, is tracked and includes some insurance. For large and heavy items like rugs, the shipping costs can be quite expensive and go essentially by weight. Past certain weight/size limits shipping will have to be arranged on a case by case basis. Please contact us about this. Shipping is not included in the price shown.
Items will normally be shipped within 3-5 working days after payment is received, unless otherwise notified.
NZ Shipping Times
While packages generally arrive MUCH sooner, we allow the post office/couriers up to 2 weeks for domestic delivery (and up to 5 weeks for international delivery, or even longer when held up at customs). Be aware of this before contacting insurance, etc. for non delivery. Also please remember that shipping around any holiday can be very unpredictable.
All items will be shipped via NZ Courier Post unless otherwise arranged. Other shipping methods with more insurance can be arranged on request.
We will happily ship straight to a giftee as well as include a personal note if requested.
International Shipping
We are open to shipping any item anywhere that the shipping companies will deliver to. Please be aware that this may take anywhere from 6 days to 5 weeks or more depending on where you live (or even longer when held up at customs). Our costings will be for NZ Post International Courier which is tracked, a signature is required and has basic insurance. We can upgrade this to other shipping methods on request. IMPORTANT NOTE: International buyers are responsible for any and all Customs Charges, Taxes and Additional Postal Fees. Parcels left at customs and returned will not be refunded shipping fees.

Additional
Notes
Sizes given for items were correct when they were made but they may stretch and/or shrink a little with use. Please note that rug sizes are correct within a centimetre or two.
All of the prices given are in New Zealand currency.
Rugs, in particular, are snug in their wrapping so please take care when opening and do not cut into them.
Commissions and Custom Items
We are happy to discuss custom size, colour and/or design items. Please contact us about this.
(Note: While we can repeat a design, due to the nature of weaving and dying, and the problems in sourcing suitable materials, we cannot exactly repeat colours or sizes, and the nature of the designs often impose width to length constraints.)
Everything in this shop comes from a smoke free environment, however we do keep cats.
