Weft faced double-weave grid design in a riot of colours

Double weave is a technique whereby you weave two separate layers of cloth simultaneously. The design possibilities for rug weaving come from interchanging which layer is on the top. Both layers are weft faced plain weave and they interconnect whenever the layers change, which is controlled by the blocks. The design (dictated by the block threading) is essentially the same as Weft faced double-weave grid design in sunset colours apart from the continuous colour blending in two competing sequences of 22 colours. Colour blending by double picks. Weft faced double weave with two blocks. Cotton warp, carpet wool weft. Finish Damascus edge.
