Wall Hanging Rosepath Variations based on Mid Blue
Rosepath is a class of traditional weaves known for the intricate patterns that they can produce. Here I started with a simple 4 shaft Rosepath threading in one of my “design as you go” exercises with mid blue as colour choice and a rule of symmetry then experimented with what patterns and elements that I could generate. I did not limit myself to balanced weave sequences i.e. 2 shafts versus 2 shafts and have, a result, made a rug that is naturally 3D, will not lie flat and thus is a wall hanging only. The design is intended to be one sided. The weave is rosepath. Finished Philippine edge. Cotton warp, wool weft.
