Twill Curves Cubic in berber and dark brown

This is one of a series of rugs based on the idea of weaving twill on opposites and not progressing the twill in the normal manner. Instead the design is generated by shifting the twill repeats systematically to make repeating curves. This design is based on the cubic, a family of curves based on the equation ax3 + bx2 + cx +d. These are characterised by two changes in direction (maxima and minima) and the constants in the equation were selected to give a pleasing result on the rug as woven. 2-2 twill weave. Cotton warp, carpet wool weft. Finish Damascus edge.
