Stripes Idea 2 in Green/Grey and Red

A variation of the Stripes Idea 1 design but with different ratios between the stripes, “gaps” and widening of the implied triangle. The orange marl weaving warp contrasts with the green, actually 3 thin tweedy green yarns plied with 1 thin yellow/green yarn, but is very subtle on the red. The weave structure, 2-2 broken twill, gives less pattern than twill. Broken twill has less interlacement on every alternate weaving warp making them slack and creating a bobble on the surface of the rug . These will be prone to wear whereas the other set of weaving warps stay tight and are much less vulnerable. The rug will not unravel if the bobbled warps wear through but the use of non-carpet wool makes this liable to wear.
The two warp rug weave based on 2-2 broken twill with shaft switching. Cotton stuffer warp, carpet wool weaving warp, carpet and unknown wool wefts. Finish modified philippine edge with weaving warps darned back in. 880 x 1190 mm. $940.
