Solid/Shadow Rectangles in Reds and Greys

This was one of a series or designs based around the idea of a bold simple rectangle and a shadow or ghost of that rectangle indicated with the small squares. For this rug I pushed the shadow to the side as if being blown by a high wind. The weave is 6 end two-tie unit weave with shaft switching, chosen to give well defined small squares. Finished by oversewing with cotton tape. Cotton warp, wool weft.
