Shadow Face 5 in yellow/green and magenta/red violet

This design is one that came out of my researching optical illusions and perception i.e. how we see things. This is not actually an illusion but the result of reducing the visual information to a minimum. The abstract shape is a human face, side lit and reduced to just two colours and is perceived as a face in a similar way to many optical illusions. Conventionally these sort of things are drawn in black for shadow and white for light. Here I have chosen to contrast yellow/green with magenta/red violet with an added subtle set of diagonal transitions in colour intensity. The design needs contrast to work but I wanted to subvert the convention of black/white or warm/cool colours so chose colour pairs at the borders and used the striping effects to sit across the warm cool divide, which, is itself an illusion of sorts in humans perception. It needs to be seen as the colours in the photos are close but not right. Three end block weave with shaft switching, carpet wool wefts, cotton warp finished with Damascus edge.
