Regensteier Geometric design in grey and green

This rug is a straight copy of the design of a rug in Geometrical Design in Weaving by E. Regensteiner. It was an example, with no further information, in a chapter discussing proportions, ratios and geometry in designing weaving on larger scales. I chose to weave my rug in six end two tie unit weave as it gives the better defined columns that suit the design. Also the choice of weft yarns give the columns a subtly corrugated effect which emphasises the linear elements over the colour blocks. Six end two tie unit weave with shaft switching. Cotton warp, carpet wool weft. Finish Damascus edge.
