Mediaeval Dance

Roughly based on a reconstruction in costume of some late mediaeval dances which I reduced down to just light and shadow. The fashions of the time make the man’s upper body seem more bulky and the energetic dance shows off the woman's flowing skirts. The weaving warp is pale on one side and darker transitioning to charcoal on the other side modifying the heraldic colour pairing to fit the subject.
The two warp rug weave based on tabby. Cotton stuffer warp, carpet wool weaving warp and wefts. Finish modified philippine edge with weaving warps darned back in. 900 x 1390 mm. $1130.
