Krokbragd rug commissioned by
M. Sarkissian

Krokbragd is a weave structure I had not tried for some time despite its simplicity and wealth of design potential. All the designs are due to the choice of the colour of the weft in each pick. Constantly using the same stepped motif is very typical of traditional krokbragd. The continuing colour changes of the motifs in a limited set of earth-tone colours lift the design whilst giving it a unity. Functionally one sided.
Krokbragd. Cotton warp, carpet wool weft. Finish overhand knots, darned back in, with the edge folded over and sewn down. 570 x 1440 mm. Sold.
