Krokbragd Achilles in Burnt Orange

Krokbragd is a weave structure I had not tried for some time despite its simplicity and wealth of design potential. All the designs are due to the choice of the colour of the weft in each pick. The rather odd title comes from me managing to partly tear my Achilles tendon while weaving this rug. The single repeated columns (tendons) are a coincidence, I was actually inspired by the lovely Toika loom that I was using on loan and my view of the narrowish warp (compared to my usual) stretched out in front of me. Not a traditional krokbragd design and intentionally non symmetrical. Functionally one sided.
Krokbragd. Cotton warp, carpet wool weft. Finish overhand knots, darned back in, with the edge folded over and sewn down. 570 x 1080 mm. $550.
