Golden Section Design in Orange and Magenta

The golden section is supposedly the ideal proportions for a rectangle. It comes from having a rectangle made so that cutting a square off it leaves a new smaller rectangle with the same proportions and this can be repeated ad infinitum. It also arises from the Fibonacci series. Here I have represented it in a spiral form with the squares construction represented by the colour changes. The choice of colours was very much for artistic effect. The weave is 3 end block weave with shaft switching. Finished by folding and oversewing. Cotton warp, wool weft.
