Fat Spindle Design Blue and Grey

Here I have used the same basic design as “Thin Spindle Design Red and Grey” but changed the curves of the spindle motif. This resulted in a shape that reminds me of Zulu shields. Interesting, the South Wales Borderers (Rourke’s Drift, the film Zulu) were my local regiment. The weave is 3 end block weave with shaft switching. Finished by oversewing with cotton tape. Cotton warp, wool weft.
