Experimental Rug 8 in Earth-tones

This was an exercise investigating the possible weave structures and colour sequences for the new 1,2,3,4 threading of the weaving warp. In particular 2-2, 1-3 and 3-1 twills with and without tabby. The yellow/brown marl weaving warp fits well with the extreme range of earth tone colours used to weave 2 inch stripes, each in a different weave structure. Superimposed is a simple block design done by shaft switching to add interest. The intention was to have a design source to match large scale designs with the small scale patterns of a weave. As such this rug is not for sale.
The two warp rug weave based on multiple weave structures with shaft switching. Cotton stuffer warp, carpet wool weaving warp and wefts. Finish modified philippine edge with weaving warps darned back in. 890 x 2190 mm. NFS.
