Crescent Faces 4 in navy and undyed

The inspiration for this design came out of my researches into optical illusions, optical art, negative spaces and related concepts but is actually based on a simple rotation. A face, in profile, rotated about the top point of the motif. The resulting complex shape irresistibly reminded me of a crescent moon despite not really looking moon like. That resemblance strongly influenced my choice of colours. The navy wool is a very thick and strong but not carpet wool. Hence this is probably better suited to be a wall hanging. Three end block weave with shaft switching. Cotton warp, carpet and other wool weft. Finish Damascus edge.
