Colour blending on a drab warp in warm versus cool colours
A greyish fawn, actually labelled drab on the cones, warp was threaded on. The stuffer warp blocks were in Fibonacci sequence. The design takes advantage of the range of close bright colours that I had accumulated and contrasts warm with cool colours each repeating in their own sequence down the rug. The drab highlights the weft colours without visually changing them too much. The colour blending was done by putting two picks through each time and varying the colours as needed. Awkward and needing a lot of shuttles. Two warp rug weave based on tabby with 2 blocks. Cotton stuffer warp, carpet wool weft and weaving warp. Finish philippine edge with weaving warps darned back in.
