Braided River 2

This design is roughly based on an aerial photograph by Jason Hoskin (https://www.jasonhosking.com/NATURAL-ABSTRACTIONS/1/). The use of many blues reproduce the varying colours caused by the changing depths and flow of the water. The plying of thin dark browns with dark green and/or various fawns try to indicate the textures of the braid bars and eyots made of broken rock and pebbles with their sparse scrubby vegetation. Decoratively one sided. The two warp rug weave based on tabby with shaft switching. Cotton stuffer warp, carpet and recycled wools weft and carpet wool weaving warp. Finish philippine edge with weaving warps darned back in. 890 x 1480 mm. Sold.
