Aire and Calder Navigation

An inspiration for this design was the classic London underground map and it is loosely based on the rivers and canals around Leeds where I went to university. Those years contained many of the defining experiences of my life and was where so many aspects of my character were fixed. Decoratively one sided. The two warp rug weave based on tabby with shaft switching and hand manipulation. Detail by dye painting. Cotton stuffer warp, carpet wool weft and weaving warp. Finish philippine edge with weaving warps darned back in. 900 x 1490 mm. Sold.
