2-2 Twill Exercise in Red and Black Experiment

This was an experiment in 2-2 twill and broken twill sequences to produce fine patterning and to neatly reverse the sequences to make symmetrical motifs. While the main weaving went well it was noticeable that certain sequences tended to pull in the edges slightly more than others but that this could be compensating for. However, the choice of finishing technique pulled in the ends of the rug too much giving the rug a slightly barrel shaped appearance. Next time thicker warp, or closer sett or a less tight finishing method. The weave is 2-2 twill. Finished half Damascus edge variation iii with ends darned in. Cotton warp, wool weft.
